What is fine art school photography?

This is a new kind of modern boutique school portrait.  Fine Art school photography takes the artistic vision of a high end portrait and brings it to the school setting.  By encouraging each child to simply be themselves, I'm able to create captivating portraits that families will want to hang on their walls, not assembly line photos they feel obligated to buy.  My service is personal and professional. Unlike large corporate photography operations, I only take on a few, select schools so that I can provide superior customer service and artistic images.

I never force a smile and simply aim to capture the essence of the children I photograph. There are no awkward poses or props and I use natural lighting.  The results are genuine, timeless portraits that are far from the traditional cheesy photos to which we've become accustomed.

How does it work?

For your convenience, all proofing and ordering of portraits is done online, freeing the school of any obligation to handle payments. Families will be linked to password-protected online ordering galleries. Each child will be provided with a selection of images presented in both color and black and white. Each family may choose the photos they want printed, as opposed to having a pose chosen for them. In addition to traditional packages, I also provide the option of modern product choices, such as canvas and hi-resolution digital images. A detailed PDF describing all ordering procedures and shooting day preparation will be provided to each school to be distributed to families prior to photo day.

Prints are ordered online and delivered directly to the clients home within four weeks of picture day.  I handle any questions from parents and families about ordering and products.  I take staff photos and provide a complimentary print package to staff.  I can also work with schools to provide custom services if desired.

Is it expensive?

My prices are competitive and comparable to larger companies. No payments are due up front. There is absolutely no cost to the school. I offer a variety of collections and a-la-carte products to fit everyone’s needs.  In certain circumstances, I am able to donate up to 10% of profits to the schools that I photograph!

What time of year do you offer fine art modern school photography?

I work with schools throughout the academic year. I work with each school individually to find the best dates for their schedule. Most schools typically choose Fall and/or Spring dates for picture days.
